My approach to photography has been heavily influenced by two quotes from Ansel Adams:
"You don't take a photograph, you make it"
"There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept"

My interpretation of those concepts, particularly in landscape and architectural photography, is accomplished by employing a variety of editing techniques to transform the original image from "what it was" to "what I want it to be".
Those edits can be as simple as adjusting color and contrast, or as extensive and transformative as replacing an entire sky with one that more closely matches my vision for the finished image, changing "the time of day" or by repositioning elements within the image to enhance the composition.
However, in order to preserve as much of the original content as possible in my nature images and travel books, I have limited the editing to to basic technical adjustments that do not substantially alter the basic image.
This website was created as a showcase for my photography and not as a vehicle to sell prints or books. However, if you would like to own a print of one of my images or acquire one of my books, feel free to contact me at glassrm@sbcglobal.net.
